Start with some botanicals, anise and fennel; add herbs and wormwood; distill, then dilute. Hemingway preferred it topped with champagne. Van Gogh used it as the subject in many of his paintings. What is it about this elixir that so inspired artists? Absinthe is a curious mixture indeed.

Now I have only one thing left to do: nothing. I don’t want any belongings, any memories. No friends, no love. Those are all traps.

Trying to figure out what I want to be doing tonight. I’ll be awake when nobody else will be and of course I still have one post to work on but after that I feel like tearing up old magazines and doing crazy collages. So maybe I’ll pick up some vodka ice, glue stick, and an album to put everything together. Sounds like a plan.
